The budgeting process is the foundation for planning your company’s future. This essential business tool provides managers with a scorecard in which they will view past performance and plan for future performance. To ensure effective use of budgets and the budgeting process, managers must understand where the numbers come from, what they mean, and how to use them on a daily basis.
Through this interactive simulation, participants will actively engage in our case study company, The OT&B Railroad Company. Their challenge is to create a budget for the upcoming year to meet strategic goals, then follow the budget cycle, analyze variances, and make decisions based on the numbers and other critical budgeting influences.
